I was originally going to send my out of town guests a hotel card with the STD's problem is that i might be changing my hotels and I want to get the STD's out.. so should I just send them and then send the hotel cards with the invitations. When is everyone else sending their hotel cards out?

I am going to try to send mine with the STD... I have to get my butt in gear ~ I have had my STD for awhile and I am planning on getting them out soon!

Send it with the STD.. figure out the hotel situation ASAP and send it with the STD. I did that.. and I know when Im a guest I totally appreciate having as much info in advance as I possibly can. The rate that the block has would determine if I go 1 night or 2 and stuff like that.

I sent the Hotel info with the STD's and I am also planning on doing it again with the Invite.
I booked rooms at 2 Hotels and 1 of them was very limited on spots.

I sent hotel information with my STD. I sent a letter out ot my OOT (most of them are actualyl comign from Europe for the wedding, so I needed to give them ample time to plan, book flights, etc.)
With the STD, I just gave them the name of the hotel, the rate of the room, and the contact information to book a room. I will send out the info. that the hotel gave me as an enclusure with my inviations.

thanks so much for all your help on this .. i'm going to attempt to solve my hotel problem in the next week or two and then get the STD's out by the end of the summer well the end of August no later.. again thanks

We won't have many out OOT guest (less than 20), so we will be including accomidation info along with the wedding invites.

I had the same discussion with my FMIL -- but since our invitation goes out only a month before the OOT guest discount expires, I am going to go ahead and place them in the STD and in the invitation.

Don't bother putting it in the STD, honestly. People don't book it that early. I was surprised at how many people waited til the last minute and we have a lot of planners!

I think we're going to put them with our STD's- even if only for the OOT guests. The rooms can book up fast- we were in a wedding this past weekend and the room block was at the Huntington Hilton- they had 8 wedding room blocks that weekend and they were completely sold out 2 months before the wedding. I'm afraid to wait until the invites to send out the hotel info- if they had done that with their wedding, no one would have been able to get a room!

I am also sending mine out with the STD for the people who want to book it earlier and then with invitations as a reminder
I sent mine with our STD, but only b/c it's a holiday weekend and I wanted people to book the rooms. I've gotten them w/ the invite also and that's fine. Since there are rooms blocked, there's not usually an issue getting a room.
