Out of town guests at rehearsal dinner?

So my mom is freaking out about our out of town family (who haven't seen since im a baby, btw) not being invited to the rd. Let's keep in mind that I'm paying for the wedding and am inviting them to the wedding As a courtesy. They have literally no involvement im my life, so why should they be at the rd?? We are already having 60 people at the damn dinner already!! Momzilla.....

Wow, 60 people is a big RD! Maybe tell your Mom that they are more than welcome if she takes care of their plates at the RD?

Yeah....if she pays for them I'd be ok with it

That is an option, the issue is having to say to ffil 'my mom wants these people there and will pay' and he will surely be offended. Not to mention that opens p a can of worms for other people who should then be invited.
