outdoor ceremony in july???

It seems like every RH i call boasts about their outdoor ceremony site....even when i tell them my date is in july.

is it just me...or is the idea of an outdoor ceremony in july seem brutal? i know its only like 30min.....but, its gotta be hot!

any thoughts?

I'm a sweater and we wanted an outside wedding so we figured May was the best bet for me heat wise. I personally couldn't do a July outside wedding, but my brother did at East WInd and it was gorgeous. Like you said, it was 30 minutes and no one seemed to mind too much. My SIL LOVES the heat and doesn't sweat (grrrr) so she was fine. Brother was a little toasty, but he got over it. I guess it just really depends on how you are affected by the heat.

Yes, I agree. Could be brutal. I had my engagement party in July outdoors and it was almost unbearable at times. Half of the party stayed inside in the AC the whole time.

I really feel July could be very hot specially for an outdoor ceremony. But sometimes the weather is nice also if you do it late afternoon the sun might not be as strong. The humidity is the concern because sometimes even though the sun goes down it still feels humid outside. but you might be lucky and get a beautiful weather out!!

I think as long as you and your FH can handle the heat that's all that matters. However, I would also take into account any elderly guests you may have- they might not be able to take the heat- even for 30 minutes. If you have grandparents that MUST be at the ceremony no matter what, make sure they'll be ok in the heat for the 30 minutes.

as long as you, fh and your closet family (like grandparents etc) can stand the heat then go for it.
For other people oh well lol...plus you never know how the weather can be, it may be cool, there may be a breeze etc...it may be worth a shot

it's up to you, but i wouldn't do it. i was MOH for my college roommate a few years ago.....she got married on aug 2 with an outdoor ceremony and I can't tell you how much i was sweating. my makeup was dripping and my hair was gross.....and the worst part was the RH was not air conditioned (it was central PA)

I think if it is around 5 or later you should be fine! But anytime earlier might be brutal!!!

We are July and FH worried about this (I never sweat, im always cold) Our Reception is at night and it should have cooled down. If it it really is a horrible hot day we are going to request it inside.

I think it depends on the RH. Fox Hollow has a beautiful outside ceremony location but it has trees and flowers so your in the shade.
