outdoor ceremony weather?

outdoor ceremony weather?

For those of you who had or are doing an outdoor ceremony during the summer months - are you going to have it outside as long as it doesn't rain? My dad is adamant that we don't have a ceremony outside because it will be too hot. My ceremony will be in a shaded area, I have my heart set on it and I think it's not his choice either. I'm praying for cool weather even though we're getting married in August. How hot is too hot for guests that I should start considering moving it indoors?

thats up to you. if there's shade you may be ok.

I went to a wedding at Oheka a few years back. The ceremony was so unbearable that we had to bring the older people inside for fear of heat stroke. When we got up to go inside I was soaked through and honestly wanted to leave. horrible.

i'm having out outdoor wedding 2 weeks before you ... we'll move it indoors if we start sweating while just standing there .... we don't want our guests, or ourselves, to be uncomfortable .... especially FH who will be wearing long-sleeved black tuxedo!

oh, and my ceremony has no shadey area ... i think you'll be fine if your area is shaded.

I'm having mine a year from today and the ceremony will be outside. I will only move it in if it is raining.
Our RH offers water and finger food for the half hour leading up to the ceremony and I'm going to provide fans. The outdoor ceremonies last about 20 mins so I'm praying it'll be ok.

I was suppossed to have my ceremony outside under an awning, but lo and behold, it rained that day and had to be switched to my hall's indoor location... I pretty much told the hall to wait it out and see... and while the rain would have held out for the ceremony part, the humidity was a killer and im glad my guests were inside in AC instead... yea, i was a little disappointed with not having some pics of an outdoor ceremony, but i got over it and it was prob best indoors anyway

I had an outdoor ceremony in August and I had the BEST weather. It was hot but not humid and sunny but not unbearable plus it was 5:30pm so the sun wasn't as strong as it would have been at like 2.

OK, so I'm not crazy or the only one that is willing to suck up a little heat. If there's a heat wave I'll definately move it inside. The ceremony is 15 minutes and it's at 6:30pm so I'm crossing my fingers that'll it'll be at least under 85.. preferably less than 80. I think shade makes a huge difference in how hot it gets.

we got married outside in june, it was on the water and there was a nice breeze - honestly people are only outside for 30 mins, they can suck it up

My wedding is on 7/10/11 and I am doing outside as well. I am hoping that it wont be so hot as it has been for the past few weeks. I have my heart set on outside. Maybe you can ask the hall if they can offer some fans on the sides or give people little fans as favors so they can be a little more comfy :)

You're def not crazy to want outside. I don't want to think about inside unless there is a tornado coming...JK :)
