Re: outdoor fireplaces
I don't know if this will help, we have one, it was from home depot, it came with the house and it is very nice HOWEVER we never even used it yet, but look forward to using it. My in-laws have the same one and LOVE IT!! Keeps the bugs away to in the summer!

Re: outdoor fireplaces
I don't know the difference from one to the other, but I can tell you that we really like ours. We sit outside in the fall and make hot drinks and sit by the fire. We both love foreplaces, but our house doesn't have one, so we figured this was as close as we could get!

Re: outdoor fireplaces
not sure which type to go with. There are many different ones from what I've looked at online so far. I've seen those ceramic type ones at HomeDepot and these are a few others...
(was wondering if the higher ones with the chimney's are better as far as the smoke )
DH had one at his parents' house and it rusted very easily. I think they may need to be treated with a coating of something to waterproof it.

Re: outdoor fireplaces
make sure that if you get a metal one that it is protected for the weather. They do rust easy.
The two you have there are nice I like the second one personally. Its strange its different its me. i do not like the stack though, maybe if it came shorter

I'm getting the top pic. for christmas. It's supposed to be a good one cuz it's open all around, and distributes heat evenly.
ETS: you can pull a tray out to empty and clean the ashes.
