I feel like I have searched all over the internet and I can't find the answer I'm looking for!
I am not from Long Island, but my fiancee is originally from there. We are both living in Louisiana now but plan to have our wedding *somewhere* on Long Island on October 10, 2006. (Yup, that's a Tuesday!) I want a simple, small outdoor ceremony followed by a luncheon. We already have information on the luncheon part but since I'm not actually able to get in teh car and go drive around, I'm having a hard time figuring out where to have the ceremony. I read somewhere that Southaven park was suggested but when MIL went there she found a definite duck poop problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on lovely outdoor sites that could accomodate 40 people?
Thanks so much for the help!

Re: Outdoor Location
My friend went to a wedding at the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport and said it was beautiful. Also, my photographer did a wedding on the beach at Robert Moses State Park and that was really awesome with the ocean right there. There's also Smith's Point beach. I think you can also get married at the lighthouse in Montauk. It all depends on where you are located.
Very beautiful and simple. Holds up to 200 guests for ceremony. You can FM me for more details.

Re: Outdoor Location
I would see if you can find websites/contact info. for Nassau and or Suffolk County parks.... i am sure they would allow a ceremony to take place... with a fee, i'm sure! there are so many parks on LI, it's hard to juts recommend one!
