looked into this? My BF from HS and her BF are hopefully going to get engaged soon. She would want her wedding outside, at a park. For example, down by the Sayville beach (those of you from Sayville know what I am talking about) there is a big enough field next to the playground. She would want something like that, maybe even that place in particular. Has anyone looked into this? I figure you'd have to get a permit, but she asked me to see if I could find out anything. I'll call the Town of Islip but I was wondering if anyone else has looked into something like this.

Most parks won't allow you to serve alchohol (at least that's what I found out from looking into that in NJ)!!!! That's definietly something you would want to look into.
Aside from that - if it's just for the ceremony, usually you just call the parks dept. and ask what needs to be done. You need permission and there is usually a fee of around 100 or 200 $$.....

State parks are usually the ones that wont serve alcohol- all others you will need to get a permit to use the park and then an alcohol permit- and possibly a sound permit. there might also be time restrictions where music needs to be turned off. Other than that- you should be welcomed in- I'd call various parks and towns to get these specific answers. I had wanted to do this from the beginning and then changed my mind due to all the work involved, renting everything and I mean everything...costing about double
