Are inner envelopes necessary? Or do people just put the invitees on the outer envelope?
We were told we needed the inner envelope. I didn't see the purpose but now that my invites are done I'm glad I had them.

Can you remind me of what goes on the inner envelope, especially if there are kids?

i did not have inner envelopes. I put 2 names on the front of the card if need be. I was cool with it :)
i didn't do inner envelopes either....i didn't think it was necessary.
