I see all you girls posting pics of your dresses that you are getting or have gotten for your showers. My question is how bad would it be if I didnt wear a dress? Here's my reasoning...my shower is a surprise although I did find out the date, Im not usually a dress wearing person except for really special occasions so I dont want to wear one that day and have my mom think that I know whats going on. And Im not fond of the idea of bringing an outfit with me and changing when I get there. It just doesnt seem right to me.
The shower is at the end of April so I was thinking of wearing capris with a nice top and probably wedges. Would that be OK? Please be honest.

I think it sounds cute!! I would do a dressy top just to make sure you aren't casual looking.

i dont see anything wrong with it. Capris and a nice top should look just as nice. as long as ur not in jeans. I might want to do the capri thing as well!

Comfort is key! I think it sounds perfect Each girl is different. I'm going to wear a casual dress and flip-flops just because I've had this pretty dress for like two years with tags on it and it finally fits and I never want to wear it to weddings because I always end up in black.
Capris sounds very cute. I mean, unless it's at like some super duper fancy joint in the evening, then. Ha ha!

I thought it was like a given 'rule' because everytime I see a shower outfir it's a dress! I wouldnt mind wearing a dress its just that I feel it would be a red flag that I know whats going on. And even though I do the last thing I want is to disappoint my mom, she's been working so hard on it!

Re: Outfit for shower
i'd say go for it. im considering wearing something similar too. i feel like if i wore a strapless dress then bending over to open the big gifts would not be flattering and a skirt might show some who-hooos that i wasnt planning on showing!

Do that. I am not a dress person and have no intentions of wearing one - even tho i came so close to buying one. I have been to 2 showers and both brides went he capri route!
You have to be you - or you will be uncomfortable the whole day!
