Outside of a Winter Wedding

Outside of a Winter Wedding

Since I'm definitely an old fashioned kinda girl and i LOVE traditions, I do really want to do the whole 'Tossing Birdseed' thing after the wedding. I especially want bird seed (rather than bubbles, or pedals, etc) considering that any birds in the area will be hungry as it is, during December. So it won't sit long after we leave. However....

has anybody actually been to a winter wedding where they've done this?? I'm not sure how it works. I've been to plenty of summer weddings where we wait outside with our bubbles or whatever, but how does that work during Winter??? I mean, people would have to wait outside in the freezing cold while we're doing the receiving line and then taking a couple pictures indoors before heading out to the limo. Do people actually stand out there waiting??? Or do most of them leave?

If people would be far too uncomfortable to stand outside waiting, then maybe I shouldn't bother with ANYTHING, ya know?

What do you guys think? It's been ages since i've been to a winter wedding, so i have no clue.

My MOH was married 12/2703 and everyone waited outside the church to throw birdseed. when her and her DH came out we all threw the birdseed.

I'm sure it'll be fine, those who want to wait will and those who rather not won't. We're planning on having wedding rice thrown.

Many churches don't allow rice.

I'm not sure what my church allows yet. They're not too annoyingly strict though, like other churches, so i'm not worried. But I still would prefer bird seed (just in case) Plus it's quick & easy clean-up

My cousin got married in March and it was freezing below 30 degrees and we all stood outside and threw birdseed...sure we jumped up and down a little but no one really minded.

anoother option is wedding rice, which are bio-degradable and bird friendly
