Re: Outside Reception

My ceremony is outdoors and reception will be under a tent on a lawn on the water...(both same location)

I am doing beach themed centerpieces (not flowers)...large glass vases...with sand, seaglass, shells & a pillar candle..may add smaller flowers around, not sure.

We are doing a beachfront clambake...and Long Island wine tasting...and having food available as soon as you arrive...(even before the ceremony)

Hoping to come up with some other 'non-traditional' ideas...we want it to be fun and casual...

We want our guests to get a 'taste' of the Hamptons and what you would do while out here...most will be from out of state, some from overseas...

Here are some tent wedding pics I found on Verdi's (a photographer) website...under 'Estate in Hampton Bays' or something like that to give you some ideas perhaps...

How about those Chinese paper umbrellas for shade for people? You can get them pretty cheap on-line (i think)...and they come in many colors...just a thought

Re: Outside Reception

There is a chance that my Ceremony might be outside and the Cocktail hour can be half outside/half inside BUT my wedding is in early May on the water so I'm not counting on it. It's really tough in NY to plan an outdoor wedding bc our weather is never predictable. Martha Stewart Weddings Mag always has great outdoor wedding ideas, you should grab a copy.

Do you plan on the entire reception to be outside? Definitley consider a tent with side flaps and heaters just in case of rain or chilly weather. I LOVE out door weddings bc they are always so beautiful. Good luck!

I saw these on another post and they are really cute. You can have your ceremony program on them to so it will have 2 purposes.
