Outstanding RSVPs

Outstanding RSVPs

My RSVP date is approaching and overall, there are a lot of outstanding RSVPs. Did/does anyone else have this problem? That is, have a big batch of outstanding ones?

Granted, most of them are from FIL's people so that's not my problem but the breakdown is kind of ridiculous.

140ish invites mailed out.

Me: 12 outstanding
Dad: 8 outstanding
FILs: 43 outstanding (they invited double the people my dad did; and triple the amount FH & I did)

YES. we still have around 20 that never RSVPd either way...and most of them are FILs...and do you know, they haven't bothered to call a single person!!! and one couple wrote '3' on the RSVP card and FILs aren't sure who that 3rd person is....they assume it's the wife's mother...but aren't sure...now, that card arrived in May.....they haven't bothered to call and clarify that yet. I've done the seating and if there's a thrid mystery person, he's going to have to eat with the DJ!

Yeah, I'm keeping a chart of RSVPs and have highlighted the ones that haven't been received. I expect when I send the list to FIL's they won't bother to call the outstanding RSVP people either. How in the world do you handle that when it comes time to give the hall a headcount????

Re: Outstanding RSVPs

I had this problem and we started calling people...some said that they 'lost' the invitation BUT we wrote them down anyway...We still have 3 that never bothered to respond and we could not get in touch with these people...so we are counting them as NO and if they show up...they will be told there are no seats for them
