Over the weekend I went to an atm...

and a $50 came out!! It was so exciting!!! I felt like it was $500 even though it was only an extra $30!! YAY!!

Nope, I asked for $100 and they gave me four $20's and a $50, someone at the bank made a mistake!!!

wow thats great...that doesnt happen very often...you might just have to watch out. they may catch it and ask for it back.

I don't think you should say anything unless they say something to you. It was their mistake. JMO

thats great, but i'd give it back. they are definitely going to catch the mistake and will most likely take the extra $$ out of your acct

I work for a bank and they will no doubt debit your account when they figure out the cash is gone-especialy if it was an ATM-

but if it goes under the radar then whoooowhooo

You definitely have to be careful! They may catch on and want it back, so I would not spend it right now.

It was not my bank... I actually don't rember what bank it was... If they catch it they catch it... it's $30....

Not that I would even really mind but how on eearth would they catch it?!?! First they would have to figure out there was a 50 instead of a 20 in the machine.... then they would have to look at all of the people who used the machine that day.... the video would show me grabbing the 5 bills out of the machine, and counting it in my car? Then I mumble to myself... oh cool! I don't see how they could catch it, but if they do I'll say okay and let them take the $30 out of my account!

How They Would Catch It:

1) There is a camera and scanner inside the actual machine which scans the serial number of every single bill that goes out of the machine

2) There is a camera that is on the outside of the machine that does indeed catch the motions quickly enough to know exactly when and what came out.

3) They can track it to the exact second where the transaction took place, tracking it to your ATM card, your bank and to you.

The money that is in a bank is pooled through other banks as well. You have to keep this in mind. It is a HIGHLY regulated industry and they SEE everything.

If you don't get caught - kudos to you.
