Overly opinionated friends....

Are any of you girls dealing with overly opinionated friends/co-workers or family members. Lately I have noticed that EVERYONE seems to want me to have 'THEIR' PHOTOGRAPHER, use 'THEIR' DJ, get my dress where they got theirs, etc. .. its more than just these little things but I am starting to feel like when people ask me how my wedding plans are going I want to just say 'very good thanks' and not even go into detail because of the comments I have been receiving. I understand that people want to give me advice but at the same time... I DIDNT ASK!!!!!!!! (LOL) This is happening mostly with friends and co-workers, not family (at the moment) and its starting to get annoying. Maybe I should just keep my wedding plans to myself...

I feel your pain. My friends and coworkers are really cool about it. They ask once in a while, but they don't grill me or force their choices on me.

Family, on the other hand....FH's mom told us that some woman named Sofia is flying in from Puerto Rico for our wedding. FH and I have never met her. She wasn't on our invite list. I hear she has her plane tickets already. The balls one some people.

And with the holidays coming up, I can't avoid the family gatherings.

I thought I was the only one. Last time I checked it was my wedding. It's mainly friends and coworkers my family is excited. It's just disappointing to be excited about something and hear what you should have done. I'm slowly learning to keep my plans to myself.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I was told that I 'HAD' to use a certain make up artist and 'HAD' to use a particular wedding planner and will not be 'allowed' to use anyone else.

Just ignore them or tell them to cough up the money to pay for all their fabulous ideas.

Ditto...my friend has such a strong opinion about a hall that I ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE MY WEDDING THERE. She calls me everyday and asks if I picked a place. When I say I haven't decided she goes into her whole song and dance all over again.

MY WEDDING MY MONEY Get the hint? But I love her and would never say this! lol

Yes! I am getting some of that!

I am also having co-workers tell me things I CAN'T do. I want to wear White Sketchers w/ rhinestones (or something similar). When I mentioned that to some co-workers they ALL (even a guy) said 'No, you can't do that!' 'What are you going to wear sweatpants too!'

Um, last time I checked, it was OUR wedding. Also, I RARELY wear dress shoes, let alone heels. I did not plan on wearing heels to begin with b/c FH is 1/2' taller than me!

Yea...I think everyone has to deal with that...everyone thinks their wedding vendors were the absolute best.
