overly stressed bride trying to deal with herself and BM dresses - ACK!

overly stressed bride trying to deal with herself and BM dresses - ACK!

I am really stressed and too tired to think or deal Already I got in trouble at work for talking on the phone too much - last week I did a lot of wedding planning stuff and probably had at least 2-3 wedding convos on top of my 'regular' calls (mom, sister, and BFF once or twice a week, each, in addition to quick calls with FH) Frankly I don't blame my boss. In addition, we are moving in Feb and had to find an apt, organize the lease signing, now organize moving - on top of the wedding planning! UGG. I'm exhausted and I haven't even begun packing!

Thanks for letting me vent. Now, here is the conundrum I am too tired to think about.

My two BMs and MOH live in CA, NJ and LI, respectively. I'm not worried about my CA friend trying on dresses (b/c she is just wearing what I send her), but I feel that my LI and NJ girls should try on dresses. Both girls have two kids and husbands that work on weekends. I'm only free on Saturday mornings b/c I have a 'volunteer' job that takes my entire sundays. Guess when NJ girls hub works? Yup. Saturdays. When, where and how do we meet up to try on dresses??

I was going to have them come in to RK bridal, but since saturdays are out, and you have to be in RK by 5 on weekdays, that is not happening. Then, I was going to send them style names and numbers and have them call to find out what local stores have the dresses and report back to me on what they liked, but a) i kind of wanted to see the dresses in person on someone and b) i don't want to send them to five different stores to try them on as that is asking a lot, i feel. Short of just picking a dress and making all three wear it, what do i do??

TIA and sorry so long of a message - i'm too tired to write a shorter one that's more to the point.

ps- i think LIW needs a 'tired' 'sleepy' emoticon.

LIW already has the icon you're looking for

Now, take a deep breath ... everything will be ok!

Is it possible for you to take a day off from your 'volunteer' job, so you can make a date with your girls to try on dresses?

Another possibility is for you to go with your Mom or someone else, and for you to try on the dresses yourself ... and pick the one that you like (and think would look best on your girls).

Do they have someone who can watch their kids? Maybe their parents or inlaws can pitch in and help out, to give them a few free hours to spend with you?

Are the kids well behaved and old enough (or young enough) that they could come along for the appointment?

Also, if you can't get *everyone* together at once ... maybe you can have separate outings with each girl, and then make the decision afterwards?

Just some ideas ....

How did i miss that one??

Thanks for the suggestions. only my sister (MOH) volunteered to have a babysitter. the other BM (FSIL) did not. I feel rude to suggest it, but, i guess it isn't terribly rude. Unfortunately I can't take off on sundays. I am a dog trainer apprentice and they rely on me to be there to assist. it's volunteer b/c it's not paid now, but maybe some day in the future i'll be a full trainer :)

I do like the idea of just picking a dress....hmm....maybe i'll just go and try on dresses, send them the options to get opinions and then make the final decision.

Thanks for your suggestions and for all of your hugs, girls!!!! i'm hitting the sack now :)

also wanted to add that even though my bridal party consisted of my MOH and 4 BMs, i only went with my MOH and 1 BM to pick the dress.

if your sister/MOH is offering to get a sitter so she can go with you, i would take her up on it. it can be a fun & special day for you two to spend together.

i had 1 girl out in suffolk, 1 in nyc and the other in california ... the 2 girls i went with were the immediately local ones.

there is NO rule that you *have* to bring all the girls to try on dresses, though it is a nice sentiment if you can arrange for it.
