I have a big queen sized comforter and an old/medium sized washing machine. I usually bring it to the cleaners but its so much $ each time. Do you think it will wash ok in my washing machine?

why not bring it to a laundrymat? if it is an oversized queen comforter, i doubt it will wash properly in your 'medium' washer. i wouldn't take the risk of ruining the comforter or the machine.

I agree. I don't think it would wash properly and it may damage your machine by overstuffing it.

spend the money and have it cleaned - I tried to wash our beautiful new queen size comforter in our supposedly 'extra-large capacity' and even though it was the only thing in my washing machine, it came out all messed up, the stuffing was all lumpy and it really messed it up. Of course, this was right after we got it too, so I felt like I ruined it and it wasn't even a month old yet! I should have known that it was too big - so don't let this happen to you! ;)
