Does anyone every feel sooo overwhelmed? I feel like I am going to loose my mind when I think about everything on my / dh plate, financially and emotionally. We have new house and bills up the yin yang. I just feel like, yes, we are living the American dream, but I can’t even go off routine, like there is NO room for slacking or anything. We don’t even have children yet. I have a history of anxiety / panic attacks and this is making it “re-appear” but I know everyone does it, friends, family, all of us and everyone handles it differently. Sometimes I think we were better off staying in our co-op, getting crappy cars and living comfortably rather than this struggle of paycheck to paycheck. I wake up at 6:00 am and start thinking of everything I have to do when I get home, laundry, pay bills, empty dishwasher, and this is before I even get to work, my mind is just racing. I don’t know if it is a touch of depression? Thanks all for listening.

Re: Overwhelmed . .
Just try to take one day as it comes. You always have us to vent, cry, and let go some steam. We are here for you. Try to make a schedule or have a separate calendar for all of your most important things that Have to be done. It doesn't hurt to ask someone for help once in awhile. may-be you can ask your mom or MIL for help. Mom's always like to know that even though your grown up that you still need Mom for things, that you haven't let go completely.

You are not alone. We all feel overwhelmed every once in a while. Maybe you do want to talk to someone about it, though.

Yup. DH has began hating his job, so since he is a bit depressed all of the household stuff is thrown on me while he mopes. Cleaning, cooking, laundry...That coupled with going to working full time and going to school for my doctorate full time and I am ready to crack. I feel like I could keep doing this if there was an end in sight, but there isn't. I'm like a hamster on a wheel and can't get off for the next three years. All I can say is, if my DH doesn't start helping out more I'm gonna crack. Anyhoo, you're not alone! Good luck!

You're not alone. I don't have much advice though because I'm going through the same thing. I am SOOO overwhelmed lately.
My aunt just passed away who I was very close to. I have to go to her house every other day to feed her rabbits. I have to move to VA in a month, have to find an apartment, movers, a job. And eventually help my dad sort through my aunts house. I go to bed every night with my mind racing and have been close to a nervous breakdown many days. Whenever i go to her house I break down crying. I have a history of depression and sometimes I feel I'm slipping back into it.
DH tells me to talk to him when I feel this way, but I feel like I don't want to 'bother' him since he has his own stresses. But maybe it can help to talk to your DH, friend, family member or whoever.
Sorry I'm not much help.

That's so true. My mom has been great. She actually makes dinner for me and DH for 3 out of 4 nights of the week and sends it home with me. Last week she made me two turkeys and pot roast!

Re: Overwhelmed . .
thank you all, I know we all do it all and try to get EVERYTHING done with no help, my dh helps tremendously, he really does, just still seem overwhelmed emotionally - family stuff and financially - with the house. My mom lives in FL, so she can't help much and MIL can't drive right now b/c of medical reasons, I don't even think I would ask for help though, embarrassed, it is just the 2 of us and I would feel like an idiot. My biggest fear is slipping into depression / anxiety again. I appreciate all your responses, truly.

I can totally see where you are coming from. Unfortunately, there is a lot of pressure on us young people nowadays. It really *****. Try to take some time each day and do something for yourself. I have been completely overwhelmed myself and have been trying to do the same. Right now I am working on getting myself a new Summer wardrobe. With the new house, money may be tight for you but you could always get a mani-pedi, maybe work out a little bit (a good stress reliever), or now that the weather is nice go to the beach. Think of things that you like to do and make time; its important. Even if you have to wait and do a lot of things on the weekend, it may give you something to look forward to.

I feel the same way- it's not really even money issues, it is just work & time & family. I missed my train today& burst into tears. & I was on the verge of tears all day yesterday.
