overwhelmed!

overwhelmed!

So i've only been engaged a month and I'm overwhelmed.

I've checked three major things off my list
Church-CHECK!
Venue-CHECK!
Dress-CHECK!!

Next I'm going to meet with some photographers (although I think I already know who I want) and then its DJs.

I've heard you can wait a bit on limos and flowers, but I always get nervous there just isn't enough time. It seems everyone books WAY early.

The money just keeps piling up too! Goodness, sticking to my budget is wayyy too hard....

any tips?

Congrats on the engagement & welcome to the boards!

You sound like you are on a good schedule & in good shape!

Many of us have been engaged a lot longer, so you shouldn't feel overwhelmed by the boards & what everyone else has booked already! Like I said, you are in good shape & it sounds like you know what you're doing.
I would have suggested looking into photo/video next.... but you're already doing that!
Yes, limos & flowers you can wait a bit on just because those don't require one person's services for your wedding.

Rule #1, I feel like I tell every new bride who posts on here: Don't let the boards overwhelm you!

Thanks SOOO much for your support! I can't imagine getting everything done! I look at girls getting married six months AFTER me and they've booked everything already!

Everything will turn up roses :)

As long as he's there at the end of the aisle and theres someone there to marry us, then we're good. Everything else is just a bonus.

I know how you feel! I feel likes I'm miles behind everyone as far as planning and my wedding is so much sooner than theirs!

You sound like you're in good shape so far! It will all come together! Good luck!

Well, I've been engaged since December and my only check is the RH! You're ahead of the game in my book!

I agree with all the above :) I would say DJ/photographer is the next step (that's where we are), and you want to make sure you get the people you really want! Take time to see a good number of vendors so you know you made the right choice!

Also, enjoy being engaged! I have to remind myself of that sometimes because it can get stressful with decisions/money/etccc but you only get to do this once!

Hello fellow Woodlands bride! Don't be overwhelmed. You're in good shape for being engaged only a month. Just make sure to have fun through this whole process and take your time.

I'm trying to figure out my colors. I feel like i need to go figure out my flowers and then go from there. What colors are you thinking? Are you bringing in linens or anything like that? As for 'extras' I'm going to get a photo booth and I'm going to have magnetic frames for the pix. These will be the favors.

I was looing for magnetic frames!?!?! where did you find them?

We are doing a photobooth and a cigar roller.

I was thinking of a thin organza table runner, but i'm not sure yet.

i found frames HERE I haven't ordered them ye, so I can't tell you if they are good or not.

I would really like to do either a table runner or an overlay. I hear it's cheaper to buy than rent, but I don't see anything that I'm loving. I was thinking something sheer with a gold bead or sequin detail to match the gold chargers. I'm going to research a little more.

I did my flowers without the colors, my florist told me it was more then fine, once i decide on my bridemaids dresses which im having so much difficulty with, she will add color to my flowers.

The way i look at it, we all have time. I booked the major things like RH photo/video. dj & flowers so i can pay them all off. It's helpful when your on a budget. Everyone gets overwhelmed but just step back a little breathe and remember the outcome :) good luck
