Is anyone currently taking BC pills or Clomid to help remedy an ovulation problem? Just looking for feedback and hear some experiences.

Re: Ovulation problems - BTDT Moms
I have a friend on Clomid (prior to TTC, she was on BC to regulate her cycle). She doesn't ovulate at all without it. She's on her 3rd cycle of IUI, got my fingers-crossed!

I also don't ovulate unless I am on the pill. I came off the pill last September in hopes of TTC, and haven't yet. I head to my ob/gyn on Monday to see what I need to do to help me out. Besides Clomid, I also hear that metformin (sp?) is being used very successfully.

I've taken two cycle of Clomid but it hasn't helped. I was supposed to take my third cycle this cycle but I never got my full AF. Just spotting -- so the doc wants to wait until I get a full AF. If it doesn't work this third time to help us get pregnant I'll go to an RE.

Re: Ovulation problems - BTDT Moms
I have been having problems with ovulation. My doctor recommended Clomid right away. I was wary about taking Clomind without more investigation. So now I am in the process of seeking a second opinion. Clomid may be the answer for me - but I want to make sure I investigate all my options first.

May i ask...what made you think you had ovulation problems in the first place? Was it when you were trying to conceive or something else?

Re: Ovulation problems - BTDT Moms
For me, I knew I was not ovulating by charting my temperature every morning. I did not have any thermal shift .

Do you think I should start doing that? I havent gotten AF for about 5 months ...could that be the problem?

Re: Ovulation problems - BTDT Moms
If you haven't had your period for several months I would definetly consult with your dr. There could be many things going on (including stress). I don't think charting would help in that situation, because you are obviously not ovulating if you are not having your period. Good Luck!

My sister was on Clomid, and it made her blood pressure go up, and she had miserable side effects. She also did not get pregnant on it.
