Is anyone else out there writing their own vows? I knew forver that I def. wanted to be able to say our own vows to make it more personal and feel more real... rather then just repeating what the officiant says.. LOL. Soo... anyone know of a format to obide my? I don't want to sound like I'm just talking nroamlly...it's gotta sound like I'm at MY wedding... Any suggestions??

Re: Own Vows?
I just wrote from the heart.. It sounds funny - but it all fit together perfectly - I revised it a few times just to make sure it all flowed.. I am sure it will all fit

Re: Own Vows?
I'm great at writing, and of corse I want it to come from the heart... But do i need to include the rings..? How we met..? I just don't know. I know that FH will explain how we met.... and he'll prolly cry too.. HA. We were at a party and he said that he only saw me... no one else was in the room...AWW... lol. Yet the place was PACKED! hahaha. I don't want it to sound played out or whatever... I always thought that there should be some type of format...there's a format to EVERYTHING in today's world LOL.... Any suggestions??

I'm doing my own too. Havent started yet but my stepsister gave me bunch of books. . the knots guied to Wedding Vows and Traditions, seems good, it gives a variety of orders, what to write, what not to. Once you get your officiant they can help you too, they can say what they will say and what can be left up to you. . . and you know you can say it best!

I plan on writing my own. I read online, that in NY you have to say something to the effect that 'I take you to be my husband/wife'. You can probably ask your officiant.
