Oy!

Sorry ladies... I know I have been missing lately, but I have still been reading when I have the chance =)

Right now I need you lovely ladies help...

Last year I fell at work.. injuring my right wrist. After it became alot better (Not swelling every time I wrote or did anything repetitive) things were ok. It would hurt here and there but I ignored it because worker's comp is a horror and I didn't want to deal with it anymore... Fast foward- Well I opened one of my jobs doors with my right hand ( I'm right hand dominate) and BAM- swelling, bruising and horrible pain. This is why I made sure to always use my left hand because of this. I have adjusted my whole lifestyle on what I can and can not do with my right wrist.

Anyways' my doctor puts me light duty at work to allow my wrist to heal, then I can go back to my modified lifestyle. Well because my doctor wrote ' No repetitive movement with right wrist' my job decided to ask me to go on Vol. Leave. Because they felt they didn't have anything for me to do then

Are you serious? I didn't lose the use to my right hand all together, I just have to chill out for a few weeks. Have me do anything!! Mail, Billing..Something!!

Now heres the thing... They are only paying me full pay for one week , then paying me half for the rest of the time I'm out. I can't survive on half pay, nor pay for a wedding on it either.

What should I do? I could possibly be out 6 to 8 weeks. I'm freaking out.

Sorry ladies this was long. I just don't know what to do.

i think u need to sit with your boss and tell them thats not an option you cant live on that salary its non negotiable and say you will hurt yourself more before losing that pay.. and then you take it upon yourself to take it easy.

I was hoping I could pretend I was ok, but my job involves phone stats and if I'm not up to par on those I'll be in hot water.

I had to call the comp attorney's office and they told me that I have to see if my doctor can basically put me out that way I can get 2/3 of my pay. If not' I won't get any pay after that first week my job pays!!!!

I'm about to flip out because I really can't pay for this wedding if I'm out. Even 2 weeks without my full pay will hurt me.

I also work for a big company, so if their medical doesn't approve me to come back, I can't. There really isn't anything I can do.

if you got hurt at work this is workmans comp.......File a claim. It may be a pain but at least you will get $$$$.

It is comp.. Its an issue from last year. I know i can get what I can back.. but that takes time. And I don't have time when it comes to this wedding =/
