oy dilemma...what would you do? - long

my friend who was part of my wedding moved to china for work. he said he would be able to come back but as it turns out he can't. do i replace him? (my wedding is a month away) or do i just leave it as is?

he was part of this cultural ceremony that was for luck and fortune in your wedding and i feeling all superstitious for having one person missing...

I wouldn't replace him. You asked him for a reason and unfortunately he is unable to make it. Personally, I wouldn't ask someone to take his spot and just leave it as is.

Sorry to hear that he won't be able to be a part of your special day!

ETA:: But this is just me, if you are feeling superstitious and worried about it, then of course, do what you think it best and ask another to take his spot.

Would it be hard to replace him with only a month to go? If you are really feeling superstitious - then go ahead and replace him.

I'd replace him for the special ceremony.

I would not replace him. If there was something specific he was supposed to do I would delegate his duties to the others already in the party.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with asking someone to step in. I'm sure whoever you ask would be honored to be a part of your special day.
