so FH & I found a videographer that we LOVED last night. He's $190 over our budget. I know that probably sounds insignificant, but if we go 'just a little over' on everything, we're going to have a big problem. I tried negotiating but he won't come down. We REALLY like him (and we've seen like, 10 others), but I don't want to start justifying spending extra money this early on in the planning. I'm really torn.
Should I just book him? What are your opinions?
UPDATE: I was able to work something out to keep him in budget! woooohooo!

book him. 190$ is nothinggg. i know what you mean though. but.. dont eat out a few nights or just buy food thats only on sale, and in 2-3 shopping trips you would have saved that money.

Book with him and cut something else by the same dollar amount. If you have seen 10 and not found any you like as much. Then don't settle. After you have the DVD you will be glad you didn't. If you do settle and feel it isn't what you REEAAALLLYYYY wanted, You will always think... 'damn I wish i went with 'X' company'

I'm all about saving $$$, however, since the video is something you'll have FOREVER, you might want to seriously consider spending the $190. Can you cut back on the flower budget a bit, or the invites? Or make it an absolute point to NOT go over anywhere else, no matter what - and stick to that firmly!

Video and pictures are such a big part of your special day! If you are crazy about him and like his work, don't let $190 get in the way....it isn't worth it in the end!

i am extremely budget oriented with every single thing i do. so if you are able to cut $190 off something else then i think you should book him. however if you can't do that try to see if you can get him to cut something. maybe 1 less DVD if he is giving you more then 1. or maybe have him leave right after the cake cutting.

with the photographer and videographer, FH and I decided that after all is said and done, those are what we can look back on. so we did spend a bit much on those two, but i feel like it was justified and out photographer is aaamazzzzzing!!!
i'd say book him and start putting away a few extra bucks a week and you'll have the $190 in no time.

$190 is not that much to worry over, if you really dont want to spend more, take off from something else like invites that people throw away

Do not settle with anyone else...if you like them book them. If need be...cut corners elsewhere on vendors and nights out!

ITA, video seems like something that is very important to you! You can defintiely save 190 somewhere else.
