People pin dollars to your dress and then you dance with them, I think.

Re: Paging all Latina's
I have been to many weddings in PR and have seen it done at each wedding. Everybody gets a chance to dance with the bride or the groom before dancing with them you would pin $1.00 to there dress or tux.

Re: Paging all Latina's
I think this is more of a Puerto Rican or Mexican tradition. Latina511 explained it best but I have no clue what song it goes with.

Re: Paging all Latina's
it's not only a 'latin thing' My friend is from the Philippines, and she says that's one of their wedding traditions. Guests pay the bride a dollar to dance with her and they tape the dollars together amking sort of a 'Lei' out of it that she wears around her neck. I didn't do this at my wedding & I've been to other Latino weddings where they didn't do it either, I thinks it's an old custom that's dying out.

I've seen it done to a slow song and I've also seen it done to a fast merengue song...Needless to say- it is done to a song where you would dance in pairs!

It is more of a caribbean song.

Re: Paging all Latina's
I am sorry Desyre, but you are wrong. There is a caribbean song called the dollar wine, but it has nothing to do with the dollar dance practiced at wedding.
