ok I know i am annoying yes i was the costa rica girl too lol but i am rethinking my choice and FH is really into Hawaii, my only concern is price, we budgeted 5k but we could probably spend a little more if need be and less would always be great
just basically wanted to ask those of you going, where you suggest to go and what you are paying, whether or not i should cross it off my list of options.

we are planning to go to hawaii also, but we still have awhile until we need to start planning. according to my best friend's travel agent , you can go to hawaii on ANY budget. i know they have a package with hyatt hotels (beautiful!) that would be in your price range. i'll ask her to post her travel agent's phone number for you. there are so many different options in hawaii, i wouldn't even know where to start!

We decided to go all out, we're staying at 4-5 star hotels on Maui (the Fairmont Kea Lani) and Kauai (Hyatt), for 8 nights, and the Bellagio in Vegas for 2 nights and the total is costing us about 6K, including rental car, airfare, and hotel. I know we have to budget in a lot more for entertainment and meals too. You can do Hawaii for less though, if you stay at smaller, less expensive hotels, I'm sure. Good luck! We're going to Maui for 5 nights and Honolulu for 3 nights staying at the Hyatts on both islands. I asked the travel agent to price out the Hyatts and a hotel one price range down just to see the difference. Turns out you get a much better deal going with the Hyatts b/c they have an island hopper pass which includes breakfast every morning and car rental on both islands (but you don't need one in Honolulu). We asked her to keep it under $5000 and it's about $4700 right now.

My FH said that if people go and spend 10-20k like we have been told then our 5k would get us the not so nice places, but Hyatts are nice, I am not sure if he is right but why are people saying they spend so much, it scares me!

tarakinspa...i am going to hawaii for 2 weeks and we are paying about 7g....BUT we are staying at the hyatts in oahu and kauai and at the kea lani in maui which are very expensive hotels...you can definitley plan a great honeymoon for MUCH less...
try this website to get an idea of the various hotels and all the specials they have...some give 5th night free or discounted rates for certain times of the year, etc...
