On Oprah I heard her say that she has all the ceilings painted the same color as the wall. Has anyone done this? She says it opens up the room. If so do you have pictures? Thanks!

Actually, decorators say that this tends to make a room feel more intimate...so unless the room is very well lit, or very large, something to consider. If it is very large, paiting the ceiling can make it seem more intimate. Remember also, that the color choice matters a lot -- cool colors recede visually while warm ones come in.

Yes I can definitely see how it could make the room smaller. I will do a search and see if I can find some pictures.

i did it and i LOVE it! my DH was skeptical before i did and i assured him it would look good. and it does! its very wark and actually doesnt make it feel smaller at all. if anything, if its a light color, it opens it up. look on my thread that sayd PICS update on this board. you can barely see it, but iots there!

In our home office instead of painting it the same color as the wall which is celery green we added some of the green to the white ceiling paint. Their is a contrast but it seems warmer than white.
