I have this light wood furniture in the spare bedroom. I bought it at Ikea many years ago. I want to paint it white and distress it. Anyone ever do this??

i also have light wood bdrm furniture from ikea (dresser and 2 night stands). i thought about stripping, restaining and adding new hardware. i don't think it would be all that difficult, just time consuming.
another idea i had (like you) is to paint and an antique crackle finish. let me know if you have any ideas.

I had an old futon that we painted. We had to scuff the wood up and put on a few coats but it looks good now. If you aren't afraid to take a risk with it, then go ahead and try!
