So here's our dilema - we have 7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen total, no FG or RB. We have 2 MOH and 2BMs - I have my sister and BF and he has his brother and BF. We have 2 each because his brother is young and can't help too much with bach party, etc and my sis lives in Seattle and also isn't here to help much, so we wanted to honor our best friends who are doing so much for us. We each have a brother and sister and they are all in the wedding party.
We will have the 2 BF's walk down the aisle together. The problem is, his brother is only 14 and I think he will feel very uncomfortable walking down the aisle with my sister (they have never met). What I want to do is have his brother walk down the aisle with his own sister, who is also a bridesmaid. Then I can have my sister walk down the aisle with our brother, who is a groomsman.
Is it too wierd not to have the best man and maid of honor walk down the aisle together? I was thinking I could just have people switch when they get to the front. We are getting married at the RH, so it shouldn't have to be too formal.
Also, not sure which pair should walk down the aisle right before I do - I guess the 2 BF's, but then is it wierd for our siblings?
Does anyone else have this problem?

Re: Pairing up bridesmaids and groomsmen - Help
I think it's really nice of you to try to make everyone comfortable with who they walk down the aisle with. But it's YOUR day, and it will probably only take them less than a minute to walk down the aisle. So in my opinion, you should match them up however you want.

I guess I don't see why he would be uncomfortable - It's just walking down the aisle. Have you asked him how he feels about it?

actually i was a MOH in august and i didnt walk down with anyone. i walked out with the best man. maybe you can have the MOHs walk in separately. usually the best man is up at the alter already.

I think you should match them up however you want, I matched mines up in size order.
No one will really notice that the ages don't match up.
Or you can always have your sister walk down solo and his brother walk down solo behind her.

Yup, I've always seen it this way.

Re: Pairing up bridesmaids and groomsmen - Help
I've seen many weddings where the best men are up with the groom waiting at the alter.... This will eliminate the whole discomfort with fh's bro... then the mohs will walk in together or individually ollowed by the rest of the party matched up.

Re: Pairing up bridesmaids and groomsmen - Help
At my friend's wedding the BM were up at the altar and her MOH walked in alone.
I was paired up with someone I met once before and it didn't bother me at all. It's really quick.
It's your day though...I say do what makes you happy!
