I was wondering if anyone knew how far in advance the Palmhouse at the Brooklyn Botanical gardens needs to be booked.
My s/o and I are not 'officially engaged' but still know where and when we would like our ceremony to be. It's still a little while off but because I really want the Palm House I find myself wondering if we should just put down a deposit and reserve the date we want.
Of course my mother is superstitious and says that is bad luck. So while when we would like to get married is still awhile off. If the venue books up 2-3 years in advance, I don't want us to miss out on it due to a technicality.
If anyone has any idea around how far in advance it books up, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Palmhouse--Brooklyn
My friend is getting married there April 2010 and only set the date last month, Sept 2009. There was some availability but it was limited. I would call them up

Re: Palmhouse--Brooklyn
When I contact the events coordinator for my wedding in 08, I requested info and pricing a year in advance. Originally, my wedding was planned for that location. Due to financial expenses, we did an outdoor garden wedding at Queens Botanical Garden which was affordable and convenient since we were closer to Queens. I would suggest putting down a deposit when your wedding date is absolute. Unfortunately, once the wedding date is booked, it's either penalized by the percentage or non-refundable.

I wouldn't worry. I looked there about a year ahead of my date and they still had plenty of dates available for the timeframe I was considering. I ended up booking the New York Botanical Gardens instead though. Let me know if you need any additional information.
