I went to the beach today and I guess i didn't apply mu sunscreen evenly. I have ridiculous burns in odd shapes all over me. I was only in the sun for about two hours. MY B-PICS ARE IN A MONTH! Any tips to dull the reddness without any more tanning?
* Let me add that after I burn I am left with a tan in that shape. I guess I didn't mean to ask what to do about the actual burn...but is there anything you know of to prevent it from lingering around afterwards?

Put some aloe on too soothe it. Probably in a month the redness will be gone.

Ahhh... if your burns turns into a tan, you may want to go to a tanning salon to even out the tan. Tanlines last forever and never go away. I was at this festival thing last year in the middle of October... it was abnormally warm out... I got this embarrassing farmer's tan and it lingered forever.

Re: PANIC!
you could always use the jergens tanning lotion on the spots that are too light - or something like it to even out the skin tone - I'm sure it won't be too noticeable in the pics...

Re: PANIC!
PS. Or you can just have your skin photoshopped if weird tan lines come up in your pictures! I don't know how you're working with, but most b-pic photographers will digitally edit your pics.

Re: PANIC!
I would keep moisturizing and also lightly exfoliate to get rid of the dead top layers of skin and to prevent peeling...it will also make the tan part appear to fade faster Don't worry, you have a month to heal. If you are really really worried, call and explain your situation to your photog. Worse comes to worst, you can always push the date back. GL!!

Re: PANIC!
Def a lot of aloe gel/lotion to numb and relax the redness of the skin. It'll also prevent the sun burn from flaking and dryness of the skin. About a week or so, your skin will start to turn a little tan to brownish and start peeling, it is normal. It will eventually subside and heal itself. Apply aloe gel and lotion w/ aloe ingredient every night before you sleep. Go out with SPF protection sunscreen to prevent skin from further sunburn damage. It will eventually fade to a light tan spot which can be covered up with foundation/concealer.

Re: PANIC!
you could always get a spray tan over it for b-pics. . but you should be fine in a month and they will prob be able to edit out tan lines anyway .

Re: PANIC!
In a month you will be fine, relax. Just put a lot of lotion on and don't tan again until closer to the date and apply the sunscreen evenly.

Re: PANIC!
My friend put plain yogurt on her burns and it faded fast, took the sting out too. Then follow up with exfoliating and moisturizing.... I think a month is pretty good time. If it still lingers, def consider the spray tan.
