last night i started having a really bad panic attack. i think it was. my heart started beating really fast & got really hot. ended up sleeping on the sofa. i just started thinking about the wedding. I am not nervous about getting married. just about the little details & possible family issues. also, i hate flying. so that is bugging me. i'm fine now, its just weird that it happened in the middle of night. has this happened to anybody else...
sorry just needed to vent

Re: Panic Attack
I used to get panic attacks all the time. Most of mine did happen in the middle of the night. Reading always helped me. It would take my mond off of what I was feeling. You will be fine. Good luck

Re: Panic Attack
I totally feel your pain, I have anxiety problems and suffer from panic attaccks...I get really warm, my heart beats fast and I feel like I am going to pass out...just concentrate on breathing and tell yourself that this is your body's way of telling you that you have to slow down for a second...breath and remind yourself it will be ok...and it will! Feel better!

Re: Panic Attack
One of my BF had panic attacks all the time....exactly how you described it....I think maybe you should talk to your Dr. She went on zoloft for a little while and they got better, but if its not a regular occurrance then I would just relax and its honestly most likely brought on by wedding stress....maybe take up yoga or martial arts, or even just go to the gym....sometimes working out will help relieve stress......good luck and don't worry...I'm a week before you and I understand what you're going through....good luck chick!

Re: Panic Attack
I have panic attacks as well. I never had them until I was in my twenties. Years ago, I used medicine but hated how it made me feel so I stopped(less than 2 months). Instead, I found pushing out large breaths of air with a combonation of repeating a word, spelling a random word, or counting on my finger helps when it's happening. If it is really bad, I will bolt and go outside.
I had a horrible panic attack in DH's church, St. Thomas of the Apostle, in West Hepstead when we went to meet with the Deacon and have me see the inside of the church. We walked in, I took it ALL in, body temp began to boil, FREAKED out, I B-lined it out of there. The aisle was way too long for me and I knew I would never be able to do it the day of. Thankfully no panic attacks the day of because my dad was more nervous than me. So my focus/energy went into telling him he could make it down the aisle and no one was focusing on his dancing (father/daughter dance). I never seen my dad nervous/tense until then. HTH

This is off topic but I know what you mean about St Thomas! That was my church growing up, I had baptism, communion and confirmation there.....BEAUTIFUL church and MAJORLY LONG aisle! I heard its one of the longest on LI !!

Re: Panic Attack
It's normal to get nervous about the wedding, especially since yours is so close! I totally understand about you mean about getting nervous about all the details. Don't worry though, everything will be fine! Hope you're feeling better!
