So we had a list....... I ordered wedding invitations based on that list... ( 150)..... FH comes home and has 10 additional MUST HAVE business people on the list....... so what can I do? Now our total list is 279 adults 8 children so that is almost 290! ( sending out 139 invites)
So do I PRAY that people don't come??? what is the drop off rate......... The cottage holds 250 with it still seeming like a decent dance floor.......... If got forbid I only get down to 270 I have no idea what I am going to do!
( Also my parents had a B list so if we do get enough no responses I will still need to order more invitations?) I am totally freaking out.........................

Typically 20% of people do not come so for you that'd be like 58 people which still puts you in the clear. I wouldn't worry about it!!

This happened to me too. My DH never had any friends till we got married. I had a list of 150 too...a total of 210 adults showed and 35 kids. It was CRAZY!! I didnt even think the 150 would show, they say usually 1/2-3/4 of your invited guests come. So HOPEFULLY for your sake, alot of people are busy that day

I thought it holds 300, easily. I wouldn't worry about that.
As far as the invitations go... see what happens before you order more. I got 125 and sent out 96 and probably could've just gotten 100.
We had 107 people for our wedding and they were creative to make it look a little more crowded. Are you doing buffet or sit-down meals? (I imagine sit-down, since I feel like no one else does buffets these days.)
Could your FH invite those 'must invite' people by word of mouth? Or is that just too tacky?

We were told 250 is the max with wanting to keep the dance floor....... so I need to that drop off everyone talks about! It was supposed to be sit down ( I think buffet with over 200 people is chaotic) although people may be sitting on each others laps at this point............

don't freak out! there will be people who respond 'no', and you'll see, it will happen a week before the wedding. And you'll have people who won't show. It happens to all of us. I wouldn't panic about it.

i think in this day with the economy we r all bound to get some more no's than usual...im sure it will be fine..but i would not send out any b list until u start to get some no's
