Can anyone recommend a place where I can purchase paper for invitations? I'm debating whether to get them done or do them myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm in NYC. (I know there is a place downtown, in the 20's but I can't remember where it is exactly). Thanks.
Hi there. I'm in the same dilema as Heather, same date & time at the Milleridge, I'm in the Carriage house. I was hoping to get my hair done there but I don't know if that's going to happen if they get there at 9:30 a. We was planning on doing pics before the ceremony. I'm staying at a B&B 10 minutes away, so I think I'll get hair & m/up there and get into the dress at the Milleridge. That way I'm not all wrinkled. Heather, you're having the ceremony there also?

paper source
Karen, you can try Kate's paperie on 13th b/w 5th and 6th, but I found that they were a little on the expensive side. There is another store on 18th b/w 5th & 6th called paper access (they have a website paperaccess.com) that I found to be a little more reasonable. I bought 2 different weight papers, vellum paper and silver ties for my wedding programs for about $70. Jams is on 6th Avenue b/w 17th & 18th.

Paper Direct
I made my invites using paper from Paper Direct. They have everything from conservative/traditional to invites w/vellum that will work with laser and ink jet printers - I sent out invites w/vellum overlays tied with organza ribbons w/lined envelopes - cost me $1.10 per invite!
They have a web site www.paperdirect.com but its not very user friendly. Best bet would be to call them and ask for a catalog. They have coordinating place cards, response cards, programs, etc.
Good luck!

Paper Direct
The envelopes came lined w/silver foil - at least the ones I ordered did. They have a few w/vellum overlay. I used the one with the soft gray/white rose w/the vellum overlay (w/silver & gold trim).
Back when I ordered it, the selections are limited. Now, there are so many choices! Right down to vellum response cards and programs!
I also ordered the place cards - white Elegant. It was so easy doing them on my printer! I even put a little bride/groom clip art on each one. It made the whole process a breeze! :) Much easier than handwriting them all out.

paper source- THANKS
Thank you all so much. Your info has been so helpful. I just got samples from Rexcraft & Dawn, but we really didn't see anything we loved, so we figured maybe we can find paper and make them ourselves. Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll be checking them out tomorrow. Karen
What have you all chosen...or what suggestions do you have?? The monsiegneur did say we could choose some poetry instead...but he would need to see the selections..
