Parade during wedding?

Parade during wedding?

So I had pretty mich decided on having my wedding monday afternoon of memorial day next year. However, today I went to book the date with the church, and the priest warned me that the local Memorial day parade happens from 10-11 and ends at the firehouse a block away, making it difficult to get to the church. It is possible to go the long way around, but it's way more complicated.

Now I'm trying to decide if this makes me want to change the date to Saturday morning of that weekend. Is this just freaking out over something stupid?

i don't think you're freaking out over something stupid at all. this is a big deal---if your guests can't reach the place--it would be huge!

having the wedding on the monday ON memorial day is a bit tricky. most ppl are wanting to head home from the long weekend on that day. it's hard enough to have it on a holiday wknd like that. i would possibly consider changing it to the saturday or sunday instead. but that's JMO!

good luck!

I would change the date. I would be too worried that people could not get to the church.

I would change the date also, roads will be closed & they'll be crowds & guests w/b confused. Also that day is going to be killer on traffic everywhere....the Sat is a much better idea

I am not suggesting to change your date b/c you picked yoru date for a reason...

But also keep in mind not only the traffic, but if the parade is ending 1 block away... I am SURE the parking lot of the church will be FULL, thats what always happens in my town.

Good Luck.
