Paradise Bridal

I'm wondering if anyone bought there dress from Paradise bridal. I'm concerned because they told me that they are scheduling the dress to come in 8 weeks before my wedding. I'm just concerned that this is not alot of time. I hear all this girls say there dresses are in and its months before there wedding date. I just hope that nothing goes wrong with mine and that doesn't give me much time to fix any problems. (hopefully there wont be any). Does any body have any info to give me peace of mind?

TIA

I hear a lot of bad and good things about this place when it comes to wedding gowns.

I ordered my bm dresses here and I hated the alteration process.

I have read horrible review, after horrible review. I am sure there are also good reviews somewhere. lol

8 weeks would make me have hives but that may be normal for some designers/salons.

Bridal Suite of Bay Shore told me to expect my gown by Feb/March. I placed the order on 9/10.

It is making me freak out a little. Maybe I should call them and talk to them. I don't even know what to do or say to them. They probably will not change anything.

Hmmm, that doesn't seem right if you ordered the dress this month? You should have the dress by well before Springtime.

I ordered mine in September and they said before December (at another salon). My friend ordered hers last November and she got hers in January but I guess it depends on the manufacturer.

I would just call them for your own piece of mind to see if you heard that right and to see when they really expect the dress to come in.

I wouldn't worry, I'm sure it will be fine!

Caughtymyfish- Are they holding the dress for you?

Re: Paradise Bridal

yes, and on my contract it states they will hold it until the wedding date and no further.

Also, if you DO plan to use them for alterations, get the CAP written on your contract. I think I scored a great deal on my alterations, but I had to keep the overall cost down and the saleswoman knew that.

OK I just called them and they told me that they will call me when the dress comes in and that I can check on the dress in the begining of next year. As far as the alterations the CAP price was written on the contract.

Re: Paradise Bridal

she is just telling you something to keep you happy. They all do it. You found the gown a year ahead, so they aren't likely ordering it yet and that is why it will be ready 8 weeks ahead rather than 3+ months.

Re: Paradise Bridal

I purchased my dress at Paradise for my 2010 wedding. I have to say from start to finish the process was flawless. We ordered my dress in the beginning of September 2009 and it was delivered before Christmas. It lived at Paradise until 2 months before the wedding when I had my first fitting. Alterations were minimal and my seamstress was a dream. I've seen so many horrific stories from them lately that I feel like I can't say how they are now, but when I worked with them, they were awesome.

Yes, they told me the same thing at Paradise Bridal. So instead of putting my wedding date down, I put a date that was a couple months before to ensure that the dress would come in extra early just incase something was to happen.

Hope that helps!

I bought my dress from Paradise and was nervous about the same thing, but it came in about 10 weeks early. I took my dress home with me and getting alterations with someone else. I have heard too many bad reviews about their alteration department.

I'm with them now, and my dress came in three months before. They say the guarantee it to come in 6-8 weeks before, but if the designer sends it quicker you will get it quicker. I was worried about it too, but it all seems to be working out. I also just had my first fitting, i freaked out a little, and they all did whatever they could to make me feel comfortable and happy. (the freak out had nothing to do with them) hth

I would tell them you want the dress three months prior.

They were terrible to work with for my FSIL wedding. Just problem after problem.

Everything I hear is either all good or all bad.

Re: Paradise Bridal

I didn't get my dress at PAradise, but it did come in about 6 months before the wedding and I didn't start fittings until about 7 weeks before anyway, so it's fine.

They just don't want to have to hold on to dresses that are partially paid for for months, they take up a lot of space and you won't really want to start fittings until closer to the wedding incase you're gaining or losing weight. I think it's fine.
