I wanted to share an experience I had with a vendor in Queens. They came highly recommended from my BM for some linens that we were interested in. My BM raved about her and told us that she would really work with us on price.
It started when I tried to contact them, primarily Jamilla. For several weeks I was trying to get in touch with her. I emailed her, called her, left voicemails, etc. with no response. Finally, one day she finally answered her call and I made an appointment.
Our appointment was for 5:30... FH and I got there a little early and she wasn't at the storefront. Granted, we were there early... but she never showed. We left a little after 6:00 and she had STILL not shown. Her business partner was a doll and was trying to help us, but she did the DJ/photo/video end of the business and could not be of total help.
I just found it extremely unprofessional to not show up for a scheduled appointment with a potential client. We had driven out to Queens in rush hour to meet with her. Thankfully we had another appointment in the area that was actually worth our while, so it wasn't a complete waste. To top it off, the price was ridiculously high, double what we were looking to spend.
If you are looking into them and want to meet with them, make sure that they will actually show up for your appointment.
