Anyone else paranoid about their gown not fitting? Mine just came in and I am going to try it on tonight. I've only gained about 3 lbs, which I better lose but I'm kinda embarresed. I'm nervous that it won't fit.

I wouldnt worry about it. They usually order the dress a bit bigger so alterations can be done. If you've only gained 3 pounds, I wouldnt worry too much.

I was worried about that as well and it ended up being a little loose. So you never know

you'll be okay.. a full size is about 7 pounds.. and theres always room for a gown to be taken out. and then let back in when you lose the weight so don't worry too much about it.

I have not looked for or ordered any dress as of yet. I was told that wedding dresses do not run true to size and that more often than not, you are encouraged to order a bigger size.
As someone who sews, I would think that it would be easier to take a dress IN than to let one OUT. How many of you ladies who already have their dresses ordered it in a larger size than you wear now? I am curious as I was once a size 24 (years ago), now an 8 or 10 and the thought of ordering a 14 bums me out.

my advice.. whatever you do.. don't look at the tag that has the size. i normally wear about a 16 and i ordered my dress in a 24!
i've said it before and i'll say it again.. wouldn't it be better if they cut the dresses BIG instead of small so we could all order down sizes? it is our wedding.. we should feel better about it. grr

At what point do they charge you for plus sizes? A 10 or 12 is not plus-size, but in some stores, a 14 is. I'll be darned (I try not to be foul here - ) if I worked hard to be a 10 and be told I have to order a 14 only to pay more. Even though I know why they charge more it is quite a racket!!!

I am between a size 6 & 8 and I had to order a 14-my advice would be to ignore the tag!
