Parent Dances...

What does everyone think about us having the Father/Daughter dance, and Mother/Son dance at the same time? Do you think that's a bad idea? I'm already nervous about dancing with my father, so I thought it would be a little less awkward if we were both up there. I know there are brides that look forward to dancing with their fathers, but not me. I love my dad, but I think it'll be weird for both of us. HELP!

I agree with Christine ... But

I thought about that too - and decided against it. I wanted my dad and FH's mom to have their few minutes of fame by themseleves.

It is up to you

But I guess I would want to make sure that the parents were okay with it too. Some parents dream of that dance for many years. But if you are sure that they will all be okay with it then just pick a song that is good for both Moms and Dads.

It is up to you

It seems nothing is written in stone anymore with regard to weddings, except maybe how to address the envelopes. Discuss it with all parties involved, and do what you all agree on. I can't WAIT to dance with my father! May sound silly, but I remember dancing with him at all of my cousin's (20 of 'em!) weddings as well as my sibling's weddings. I remember dancing on his feet as a little kid while Frank Sinatra was playing on the record player before Sunday dinner. The dance is a moment for us that I want all to myself :-)

I've seen it, and it was nice! It does take the...

attention off of you and your dad, but I thought it was a nice idea!
