Re: parent gifts
Our parents didn't want albums. They prefer a few loose photos as opposed to an album that they will look at once and then put away.
So we got them different gifts. We got my dad a wine refrigerator, and I bought my mom a beautiful pink pearl necklace and matching earrings for her to wear on our wedding day.
For DH's parents, we got them Southwest Airline gift certificates. They live in Florida and try to come up to LI as much as possible.

both will get albums and a dvd of the wedding, but we did not pay for our photographer, dhs parents did-so we couldnt use that as 'our' gift

How are you telling them that this is their gift? We're giving them this too...with a DVD of the wedding...but how do you present it to them at the RD since you don't get it until way after the wedding?
I'm also giving my parents a gift certif. to their fave bed and breakfast in PA.

Re: parent gifts
my mom is pretty much paying for the wedding with us, so I only got her a gift...everyone else is not getting a gift. I got her a ring with a pink stone and diamonds to match her dress.
