Re: parent gifts
I got our mothers pearl bracelets from Zales. I'm getting FOG a playcard case that will have his name engraved. He loves cards! For my father... no clue!

Re: parent gifts
I got my mom a gift of poetry which is a customized poem @ www.agiftofpoetry.com and I think I might buy her the eternity circle pendant from Tiffany.
Dad...A hankie and a loving heart pin from www.loving heartcollection.com
and maybe a Jet Blue g/c.

Re: parent gifts
We got my mom swaroski earring and necklace set to match her dress.
My dad: father of the bride cufflinks, and something else. Not sure yet.
His mother we are giving her fresh water pearl necklace and an engraved poem that's made out of glass and it can be displayed.
His father no idea as of yet.

Re: parent gifts
some of this stuff seems so cheezy. I would love to get my Mom the lenox mob statue but, I think its alittle expensive.

Re: parent gifts
Does she even collect Lenox? For that price you can get her a circle pendant.

Re: parent gifts
maybe pay for a mini vacation for them instead of getting them something physical.
We are giving my parents a weekend at a bed and breakfast on the north fork, a tour of five vineyards, a picnic lunch at one of the vineyards, and a spa day for my mom.
We are giving my future inlaws a night at a hotel in nyc, two tickets to a broadway show, a gift certificate to a really nice restaurant, and a couples massage.
It seems like a lot, but they are paying for the entire wedding. We figured we'd give them something that they wouldnt give themselves.
Think of what your parents and his parents like. Since my parents love wine and the wine country, we planned their trip around their loves. Since his parents love broadway shows and delicious food, we planned their trip around their loves.

Re: parent gifts
I would love to give them a vacation but, the funds are becoming dry. FH mom is a widow and she really wouldnt go to a spa or something like that she is very simple.

Re: parent gifts
Things Remembered has many keepsakes that you may like. I liked the card case for FFIL because he loves cards and I thought it would be a special momento tying in his interests. I don't know if that's cheesy or not, but it's a keepsake he will be able to use. They have other things like picture frames and such. I do like the Lenox statue you were talking about.
