what are you giving your parents as gifts? and they are given at the RD right?

We parents were going on vacation the week after our wedding so we paid for the condo they were staying at. We gave all other gifts at the RD but my parents a card explaining what we were doing for them privately the day before.

we are doing different things for each of them
my mom... i took her to see mamma ***** on broadway last summer, but i wanted to give her something at the RD because she has don alot for me. so i made a MOB basket, it has the emrodiered hanky, precious moments statue, movie called MOB, a book called MOB, a tshirt that says it, then I bought her things that I knew she wanted or needed but would never buy... paicture frames, cannister set, gift certificate etc... it came out great!!!
for my stepfahter we got him a watch and got it engraved
for his parents both divorced an remarried...
we gave one set a gc to stay at the b&b where we stayed when we got engaged, and to the other set we got them a gc to stay upstate at this B&B that they frequent
His parents didnt really contribute so we didnt go crazy, but wanted to get something nice.

We got my dad a new Canon Elph powershot camera, my mom got a whole new set of Kate Spade cosmetic travel bags, and a Kate Spade beach purse and matching cosmetic case. We got his mom a Lenox fruit bowl and Lenox picture frame for a wedding picture. We got his dad a round of golf for him and a friend at Bethpage.

We got the parents Waterford crystal 8X10 frames since they are getting a photo from the photographer. I think we are going to give it to them at the RD

we just brought a house and are paying for alot of wedding related stuff so although I wanted to get them something the funds were making my choices limited. I got both parents champange glasses that say mother/father of the bride/groom with the wedding date on it and after the wedding we are giving each a professional photo album with wedding pics in it from our photog.

Our funds are limited too, same reason as you. I've been having difficulty thinking of what to get them. FFIL just buys whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, so it's very hard to buy anything for him. The only thing I can think of for my parents are SIRIUS radio subscriptions and radios. But I am getting parent albumbs in our photog. package, so that can count as the gift!

At the rehearsal I gave our mom's coach bags and our dads coach wallets. We paid for our wedding though. If they were flipping the bill I maybe would have gotten them a vacation or something like that.
