I'm not sure if we're going to do parent albums. None of my siblings did parent albums. Well...my brother actually had parent albums in the photo package he had but then they were so busy after the wedding that they never actually submitted all of the photos for the albums to be completed. It's been 10 years now since they have been married so I doubt my parents will get one now! I would almost rather put the extra money that parent albums would cost towards including more photos in my wedding album. Do you think this is selfish??? I don't think my parents would mind considering they don't have albums from my 3 siblings who are already married and FH said he doesn't think his parents would mind either. What do you think?? Also, are you doing parent albums???

We are doing parent albums. Actually I couldn't imagine NOT doing them, as I think both sets of parents would kill us if we didn't.

We are, but we are the first on both sides to get married. If it's not necessary (meaning if your parents don't demand one ) then save yourself the money or put it toward something else. You can DIY photo albums for them.

Both sets of parents would be upset if we didn't do this for them. I think it's the right thing to do for my parents for all they have done for me.
You can always make parent albums on an online site. That is what some girls on here do. I don't think it's the same thing as a professional album, but your parents might really appreciate the gesture, especially since none of their other kids did it for them.

I agree with if your not doing a professional one atleast do a photobook from shutterfly or snapfish.
I have a lot of these books they are so easy to do and the quality is good they will love the thought behind it

I'm not sure yet. The package I plan on getting does not include parent albums. If I wanted to add them, they are $195 each. My parents said they would rather see me use the money somewhere else and that $195 is a lot for a parent album. My dad said with all the proofs, I can make one on my own. So, I am undecided. Iam considering maybe getting it and giving it to them as a gift later in the year. Still giving it thought.

I second you on that one - my sister JUST got her parent's albums back, mind you she got married Nov 2006. Her in-laws and my parents nagged and nagged and nagged until they got them.....they will kill me if I don't do this for them!

My sister did that for her grandparent's albums....all her proofs were online and she ordered 2 books from Snapfish....they actually came out very nice and the book they came in looked professional anyway!

ITA - my mother would have a fit if I didn't have a parent album...meanwhile my FILs - I don't think they really care either way (whatever - they didn't even think a photographer was necessary!), but I am getting parent albums for both of them.

I use snapfish... a few years ago, i did a poster for my mom for christmas with pictures of all her grandchildren and it made her cry... so since then it's been my go to! lol
It was $600 less if we didn't get them so we are going to do one off shutterfly for my parents and save some$$$

Re: Parent Photo Albums
Thanks for the DIY idea!!! I think that I'm going to go through Snapfish/Shutterfly for the parent albums. This way I can still give it to them, but it wouldn't be as expensive. Even though my siblings didn't give parent albums I think I would feel guilty if I didn't so I think an album from Snapfish/Shutterfly would be great. Does anyone know approximately how much an album like that would cost??

Re: Parent Photo Albums
I looked into DIYing it although we decided to buy them in our package you can get a nice book for like $50 but there are cheaper options.

Re: Parent Photo Albums
I'm not doing them. If I'm being honest my photgs are expensive and at $1000 per parent album I am going to make my own through Kodak or some other site after the fact for a fraction of the price. Most parent albums are an exact replica of your albums and I'm thinking my mom might want different pics in her albums than I want in mine. This way I can give her the disk with files on it, she can pick the ones she wants and then I'll make her the album online. You can make an album on Kodak for like $50 and then have all sorts of choices for layouts, covers etc etc... There was an 08 bride on here who I have stolen a million and one ideas from and I think she even made her own wedding album.
