since when do we have to get them gift?!??!?!?!
we are getting married! not them!
lol i neverrr heard of this..
ughhh
im so surprised no one has heard of this. I think the tradition is that if they are paying or helping pay that a gift is given to them in appreciation. But, I could be wrong, it could just be a tradiation that fh's friends had... i dunno...
We are, my parents are paying for the wedding

Re: parents
This might sound weird but a wagon - my mother has been searching for years for a wagon to go on the front lawn (yes she is sometimes a big dork) so I think I might buy it for her.
Or I might just book them a weekend getaway in Montauk or something. They totally deserve it.

Re: parents
I'm thinking I may do a spa day with my mother and FMIL, and then FH can do a golf day with my father and his father.
ETA: my parents are paying for the wedding and FH's parents are doing the rehearsal dinner and possibly something else. They will also be getting albums as well. Finally, FH wants to buy my father the 'Father of the Bride' DVD as FH loves that movie and my dad loves Steve Martin.

Re: parents
well its my parents 25th anniversary a few months before the wedding, and they are planning to go away in january 2010....
FH n i always said we would send them on vacation, but now w/the wedding my mom basically figures we're not doing anything for the trip anymore...soooooo for them, once we see what we can afford, we will be doing something related to their vacation (just plane tickets, the hotel stay, or all if we can afford it)
that will be their 25th anniv present AND wedding present (although ill still probably end up getting them something to open closer to the wedding lol)
and FMIL i was thinking a full spa day...her life is filled w/so much drama 24/7 she NEEDS a day to herself desperately!
