Today is my parents 26th anniversary...so I sent flowers to the house (which wasn't cheap).
I just saw my dad and he asked if I got a card (because my mom is crazy about things like that--she'd flip if I didn't aknowledge their anniversary with at least a card) and I told him that I had flowers sent. I thought it was a nice idea....until he said
'Why would you do that?! The HUSBAND is supposed to send flowers!'
Now I feel totally stupid. I asked if he thought he was going to get in trouble because I sent flowers and he didnt (He will bring some home). He said no, but that I shouldn't have done it.
So, now I feel stupid and just went into the ork bathroom and cried...for the 2nd time today! (The first was over a stupid fight with FH because he said 'I don't understand what you are so stressed about...')
Anyone else overly emotional lately?
Should I have NOT sent the flowers?

Re: Parent's Anniversary-- long vent-ish
It never hurts to have 2 vases with flowers in it. It will make the room smell pretty. Grab a card on your way home from work and dont stress about it. It was a nice gesture. Did your dad already get the flowers?

Flowers for an anniversary are a very nice gesture. Women love flowers and it will be a nice decoration for your parents table or something.
I think it was really nice of you.

Yes, I've been very emotional lately...I started eating sugar again...something I've been able to stay away from for nearly a month, as a result of the emotional rollercoaster I'm on...what's causing this outbreak?? I created my guestlist for the wedding and there were more names on there than I originally wanted. Then I calculated the cost if everyone responds 'yes' and realized that I need to tighten the belt even more...FH's response,'Well we'll just have to eliminate some things'...easier said then done

I think that is really nice of you. I wouldn't feel bad. My parents would love if I did that.

I have sent my mom and step father flowers on their anniversary. They always love them and he still always gets my mom flowers. Why aren't you supposed to do that?

It's never wrong to send someone flowers... your dad was probably just angry casue he wasn't planning on sending flowers, but now has to because you did.....
You're probably just over-stressed, so everything is getting to you.... take some time to relax and think about how wonderful life is,and how lucky you are to have two parents who love each other after 26 years, and how soon you will get to start counting the years with the one you love!

I thought it was sweet! At least you thought to do something! He shouldn't be mad, that was mean of him to make you feel like that!

Thanks ladies! I'm feeling better today after a good nights rest! My mom loved the flowers, and my father just bought another bouquet.
I'm glad I'm not the only one on an emotional roller coaster here!
