I'm looking for ideas for gifts to give our parents at the rehearsal dinner. We still have a while to go, but I want to make sure I budget properly. Any ideas? Also, my parents are contributing a significant amount towards the wedding, so I think we should show our appreciation and really go the extra mile with their gift. Would love to get thoughts, ideas, opinions!

Re: Parent's Gifts
thats sweet of you. Def do albums and a copy of the video. But how about a cruise or weekend getaway? Maybe a gift cert to their fav restaurant or show tickets?

I made albums on Shutterfly of all our engagement photos. It came out really nice and didn't cost a bundle. If you want to go a step above that you could probably do a parent album of your e-pics with your photographer. This way you have something to give at the RD and then an album after the wedding.

Theatre tickets. That's what I hope to give.

Re: Parent's Gifts
I am getting my dad a double frame that has a picture of us dancing at my uncle's wedding when I was the flower girl (age 5) and he can add a picture of us dancing at my wedding. And for my mom I am getting a triple frame and putting in a picture of her mother on her wedding day, her on her wedding day, and then she can add a picture of me on my wedding day. I will have the frames engraved with the dates too. i want to get them something else as well, but I thought this was a thoughtful idea that they would both love.

Thanks, ladies! These are all such great ideas! I love the idea of doing photo frames with certain pics that have sentimental value - something they can always keep.
I also thought about treating my parents to a B&B for a weekend up in Newport, RI. But I am a little worried that FH would think we were snubbing his parents if we don't do something similar for them. I feel like since my parents are helping us financially and his are not, it should not be seen as an insult or disrespect in any way, but I don't want to start off on the wrong foot with my new in laws either! What do you guys think?

I felt the same way--- but oh well! I am trying to be fair....
I am doing a weekend away for my parents. FH is paying for his parents album (and my parents are paying for the rest of the photog so i guess they are technically buying there own album-- ha). But I was thinking for his parents (bc they are supportive and did throw us an e-party (small) ) i am going to get them a night @ AC or Conn to gamble and then my parents a whole weekend away either montauk or crusie out of NY maybe through in a spa treatment?

Re: Parent's Gifts
my parents are paying for most of the wedding so I got them each a personalized wine glass. I got my mom DOJ and i'll be getting her the mother and daughter precious moment. My dad got a money clip and I think we may get my parents a mini-vacation to AC
