Parents' gifts-need help!

Parents' gifts-need help!

I need some help regarding parents gifts. This is really not a tradition out here but I've been seeing a couple posts about this so I thought I'd ask your advice.
My parents are paying for the hall and my FH and I are paying for everything else. I think it would be nice to get my parents a thank you gift. My FH and I got into a little fight because he thinks that we should get his parents a gift too because my FMIL will get her feelings hurt otherwise. A thank you gift for what????!!!
Am I being petty?

We gave both sets of parents gifts and his parents only paid for the band - my parents paid for everything else.

You're not being petty. I just think both sets of parents should get something. If you want to give your parents a lil extra something that's fine but I wouldn't give it in front of FMIL. You should thank both families for listening to you and giving you advice during the whole wedding process.

FH and I are paying for EVERYTHING but we're still giving parent gifts for all their love and support.

Thanks!
Unfortunately I feel like both sets of parents have given us nothing but headaches ove this wedding. Can't wait to be on that plane to St. Lucia

Our parents aren't giving us any $ towards our wedding, which is totally fine, and we are still giving them a thank you present. Just as thank you for being our parents and like Julz said, raising us!

We are getting them their own toasting glasses for the reception. Something different from ours though, but pretty of course!
