parents of the bride and groom..

how do they get to the wedding? my fiance is insisting upon getting a limo for his parents because they 'don't drive'

my thinking is that they do not need a limo to themselves.. and if they are gonna get one then that limo can pick up my grandparents as well (they live near each other)

but what does folk do with their parents? how do they get to the church and then to the reception? and then home after the reception?

I actually consider them part of the bridal party. So they will be in the limo with the rest of the bridal party (28 people in my bridal party). I'm getting an SUV limo for (BM,GM) a stretch for the adults (Parents, Grandparents, MOH, Best Man, FG) and a rolls royce for FH and I. After the wedding they hitch a ride with other family members.

I agree. To the ceremony, my parents are going to ride w/ me in an antique car (haven't decided which yet), a stretch limo for the BM and another for the GM, FMIL and FH. After the ceremony FH and I will be in the car, parents and BM in one stretch, in the other will be FMIL & GM

i dont' expect them to drive, i know my mom isn't.. but then i told fh my brother is going in the limo with him and the grooms men and he goes 'oh why isn't he driving' uh duh.. cause he's MY BROTHER..

i'm a little annoyed with fh today so i might be being a bit harsh..

so we're looking at one bentley for me my daughter and my mom to get to the church and for fh and i to get to the reception

one for the bridesmaids,

one for the groomsmen and fh

and one for the grandparents..

i guess if cost comes up i can get in the limo with the bridesmaids and that would cut out one car altogether..

Well, I think me and FH's parents are going to be wherever we are getting dressed...i'm getting dressed at my mother's house the day of so my parents will be there, and wherever FH decides to get, dressed, I think his parents will be with him and the rest of the groomsmen....so they'll be going in the limo with them too..

I want my parents to be in my car going to the church and then my parents and FH's parents will go into one of the 2 limos to the hall

No problem The way I cut cost was I'm having all the bridal party meet me at the church. The only people that will be with me is the MOH, my mom, FMIL (if she wants to be there), and my grandmother.

going to ceremony-
my dad and I were in the one limo (1940 caddy)
my mom went with the girls in the escalade

Dh's parents went in the escalade with him

TO reception:
Dh and I in Caddy

parents and bridal party in the escalade
grandparents went with Dhs uncle

first escalade will pick up fh and gm's at his parents house. fh's parent's will drive on their own. then escalade will pick up me my bms and my parents and go to the church. then after the ceremony me fh bm's and gm's will go in limo. my parents will drive w/my sister's husband to the rh and fh's parents will drive in their car.

right now i think best i got is

me and my mom, daughter and grandparents in car to weddng

car for bridesmaids

car for groomsmen and fh and his folks

after ceremony

car for me and fh

car for grandparents, my mom and his parents

car for bridal party (groomsmen, bridesmaid)

after reception...

everyone walks home.. lol i dunno.. call a cab maybe?

so i'm down to 3 cars.. which works.. my grandmother is going to find her way into one of these limos so i might as well fit her in.. and his family is close to his groomsmen so it should be fine for them to ride with him..

well alot of brides go to the church with their parents. Especially for those waiting to see their FH when they walk down the aisle.

What im doing is going in a rolls with my parents. FH and his parents and his GM are actually walking to the church bc its a block and a half away from his house...My girls are going in the party bus we have, i offered for the bus to also pick up fh, his parents and gm but he said no he wants to walk there.

Then to the reception, FH's parents and my parents will go in the rolls, and FH and I, plus our BP will take the party bus

I was thinking of getting a stretch SUV (20p) and since the FH is gedtting ready only .5 mi away from where I am getting dressed with the church in between, have the limo pick up FH & GM, take them to the church,swing around to pick up my girls and have me and Mom go to the church in the RR. On the way to the reception let them get the party started. Sound too busy??

To the reception hall my mom rode with my brother's girlfriend, my father rode with his girlfriend, and DH and I rode in the antique car.

The rest of the bridal party rode in the limousine I had for them... I felt weird about my parents riding with my BP.

We're having 2 limos. One for myself, BM's (4), MOB and MOG. The other is for the men (same as above)...haven;t figured out for my father though! After ceremony me and FH and our parents take one and the bridal party takes the other.

My parents (and the brides' parents) drove to both of my brothers' weddings.

My mom and dad will ride with me in the limo on the way to the church -- but after that, someone is taking them back to their house to get their car (to drive to the reception).

FH's parents are driving themselves to the church and the reception.

i understand how u feel.. i wonder how fh woudl feel about his folks riding with him and his groomsmen.. i have no prob with my mom riding with me and my bp.. if it came down to it.. id' do two limos.. one for me/mom/bm's.. one for him/hisparents/groomsmen

after wedding us in one everyone else in the other? i don't wanna ride in a limo with his folks after the wedding.. i don't wanna ride with my folks after the wedding either..
