Anyone's family sitting on the non-traditional side for the ceremony? my parents want to watch me say my vows (nothing against fh) but even if we stand facing each other my parents won't see me nearly as well as if they sat on the traditional grooms side. it makes sense to me but we're not having ushers so i can see some of the guests becoming confused. jmo- but the whole groom's side/bride side is outdated anyway.

Re: Parents Seats at the Ceremony
I am not plannign on having the families split in half. I am going to have evyone sit where they want to sit. I never understood the point of that.

Not enough people are showing up to my wedding for this to be an issue. Sit where you want. Jim & I are pretty inseparable. You know one you know the other.. everyone under our roof is family.

I agree. People can sit wherever they want.

Re: Parents Seats at the Ceremony
I don't want people to sit where they want, b/c my church- phobe freinds will be all spread out in the back & sides. As for family, both sets of parents should be in the front, but they could switch sides if they agree, or sit next to each other. Either way, you'll wnat ot amke sure random people know not to sit there.
The last wedding I was at had 3 ushers & we knew them, & they jokingly said 'brides side or grooms side, but didn't actually seat us. I want mine to actually seat people so there are no major gaps. Maybe I should get a 'please wait to be seated sign' from a restaurant. . .
