Re: parent's wedding songs
My dad actually asked me about this. He wanted to know if it would be ok with me if at some special point in the evening he could have the DJ play their wedding song and he would ask her to dance. So I guess he wants to do it just as we are finishing dinner I think. So everyone is sitting and they can take the dance floor. We have a saxaphone playing during the dinner so I think he might play it. He wants to make it a surprise for my mom. Especially because I am getting married on Aug 13 and my parents anniversary is Aug 12. My dad is so cute!

Re: parent's wedding songs
I loved the idea, then my FH asked and we were like FEELINGS? I still love the idea.
It took me forever to even find my parents' song. I'd never heard of it.

Re: parent's wedding songs
yeaaa im gonna do this bc my parents and FH's parents have the same song! I thought it would be cute to play for them....its 'my everything' by santa esmerelda. FFIL said that other artists sing this song so its funny that they both had exactly the same song by the same artist

Both my parents and my inlaws used More as their wedding songs in 1970 and 1971! So we used More as the song for the anniversary dance.

Re: parent's wedding songs
MY parents wedding son was 'Till'. Not Til Then, but Till. And they're split up now so that's not happening.
FH's parents couldn't even remember what song they used, it took FMIL like 10 minutes to remember... It was a Bobby Vinton song but I can't remember which one now either... but since it was so super important, I don't know if I'm going to play it. I've been thinking about it, but I dunno yet.

Re: parent's wedding songs
if I played my parents wedding song I think that might be a problem since they are divorced LOL.
But I think the idea of doing that is sweet. Maybe it can be played earlier in the evening.

Re: parent's wedding songs
I'm doing something similar. On our wedding website I added a Request a Song section so that our guests can request something to be played at the wedding. So I may have a few different wedding songs, etc. I will give the list to the DJ and he can play the songs throughout the evening.
