Not sure about 'fun', but there's Studio 97 Salon on 7th Ave. and 9th Street. I used to go there to get my hair cut and get manis and pedis. I know they do massages and facials, but it's a small, cute place.

There is also Elan Salon and Day Spa here is the phone # 718-789-1700 I have a flyer from them with Holiday Special Packages, so you may want to inquire. They're also on 7th Ave.

I also recommend Studio 97 - the people who work there are very nice and they do a great job.
